The e-Poster competition on Breastfeeding Practices 2024 organized by the faculty of health sciences, James Lind Institute, Switzerland was a successful event showcasing design skills, highlighting and spreading awareness on the crucial benefits and practices surrounding breastfeeding, especially during crises such as COVID-19 pandemic. Held virtually, the competition provided a platform for participants to present their e-posters to a global audience of experts, peers, and enthusiasts.

Objectives
– To promote innovative thinking and visual communication skills among participants.
– To provide a platform for sharing Strategies to support breastfeeding during emergencies and crises
– To foster networking and collaboration among researchers and professionals.

Key Highlights

1. Opening Remarks and Keynote Address
Dr. Anahita Ali, Associate program director of public health welcomed participants, attendees and judges setting the tone for insightful presentations.

2. E-Poster Presentations
The competition featured presentation sessions, with 11 participants showcasing their innovative ideas. The presentations were well-received, and the diversity of topics highlighted the breadth of the theme as given below:

 

3. Judges’ Deliberation and Awards
The judging panel, consisting of 2 experts, Dr. Youmna Abdelnabi and Dr. Tayyeba Idrees from the public health field, convened to evaluate the presentations based on 4 major criteria – creativity and originality, adherence to the theme, visual impact and clarity of message.

4. Closing Remarks
Dr Suhail Sayeed, esteemed Director of Academics concluded the event with a summary of the day’s achievements and expressed gratitude to all participants, judges, and the organizing team.

e-Poster competition on Breastfeeding Practices 2024 successfully achieved its goals of fostering innovation and enhancing visual communication. The event demonstrated the power of e-posters in presenting complex information effectively and facilitated meaningful interactions among researchers and professionals.
