GCP training

Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is a well accepted global scientific quality and moral standard for performing clinical studies that engage human volunteers. ICH-GCP certification is mandatory for any professional who try to associate with clinical research anywhere around the Globe. This is making GCP training a compulsion to participate or carve a career in this profession.

Roughly all phases of drug development are put to scrutiny and since many years, it has been an compulsion for regulatory bodies to see that clinical studies are conducted in agreement with Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Consequently, all the important personnel, right from Clinical nurses to  Principal Investigators, and others like Sub-Investigators, Clinical Research Coordinators, Clinical Research Associates and others within the industry , must have good knowledge in ICH-GCP. Most of the drug discovery and development companies provide GCP training for their employees.

Sheer understanding of GCP will not be adequate but a proper certification from a proven certifying body or a training entity is compulsory to participate in clinical trials at any capacity or position. The accountability for GCP is equally shared by all share holders involved, including sponsors, investigators, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), the trial site staff, ethics committees, regulatory authorities and human subjects.

James Lind Institute provides online self-paced GCP training and certification program. It is for all professionals involved in the conduct of clinical trials including clinical research personnel, clinical nurses, and clinicians. The program offered will provide comprehensive knowledge regarding the ethical conduct and global standard practices to be followed in performing clinical trials.
